The plays recreates abuses and outrages committed by soldiers in the villages where they were staying companies, tensions fueled by the frequent confrontation between soldiers and civilians. The drama of Calderon de la Barca together ingredients of deep popular, spontaneous and waste of life, the authenticity and pathos of some scenes of suffering humanity and by the strong performance of exemplary justice in the hands of the proud peasant Pedro Crespo, Mayor invested in defense of family honor.
