Moors and Christians in Banyeres de Mariola (Alicante)

From April 29 to May 2 celebrates the Moors and Christians in honor of St. George, declared of national touristic interest. During the four days, the events that take place are very different. On April 29 takes place in the morning parade and bands offering to take part in the festivities, and in the afternoon, the Hall, where all the groups marching to the beat of the music, relive all the feelings they are most pride. At the end of the retreat takes place, informal tour through different streets of the town, with lanterns made by the very festive, which end up being burned in the square.

On day 30, the day the boss, first thing in the morning we celebrate the target, in which a squad of each carnival, parades and contests with the rest of the first prize. By mid-morning Mass is held in honor of the patron San Jordi. In the afternoon, the children's parade and procession, which again is why the meeting.
On day 1, is called the day "dels trons", as it takes place, symbolically, conquering the castle by the Moors and the subsequent conquest of the Christians, with solemn embassies. In addition to completing these embassies, are other humorous type, where an informal and humorous parody current situations.
Finally, on day 2 was dedicated to honor and remember those who have left us. Based on the Morer, house where he made his solemn entry Relic of Saint George in 1780, firing muskets amounts to the cemetery, which is host to the outdoor mass, this is a unique event within the festival of Moors and Christines where banyerenses feel like no memory of deceased loved ones more. Once finished, festers and festers not gather around the shrine of Santo Cristo, where the proclamation takes place and lifting of the captains of next year.
